CORE partners with member districts to develop science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) programs. This includes helping districts offer courses designed by Project Lead The Way, a nonprofit organization that develops STEM curricula for use by elementary, middle and high schools. CORE has also helped districts develop individualized courses or programs in STEM fields.
The CORE Institute helps school and business partners develop individualized programs within the following areas:
CORE helps districts participate in college and career day events to connect students with local professionals and educational opportunities beyond high school. With the help of CORE, school districts can plan and host their own events or participate in existing programs.
CORE connects regional employers with middle school and high school students for job shadowing experiences. Students are given the opportunity to observe and ask questions to learn about a particular field, role or workplace. Tools, such as Naviance, help students and guidance counselors find job shadowing opportunities that align with students’ interests and goals.
